Hi, I’m Holly.
I’m a digital creative based in Vancouver, WA who thrives in areas where humanity and technology meet. Currently, you can find me at the Electronic Literature Lab (ELL) at Washington State University (WSU) Vancouver where we focus on the preservation of born-digital art, literature, and games. I serve as the lab’s manager and senior designer, leading daily operations and overseeing design strategy while staying hands-on with front-end development and communications. I also teach web design and development in the Digital Technology and Culture department at WSU Vancouver. My career goals are focused on building ELL’s long-term sustainability so it can continue to serve the community for decades to come.
This blog is where I’ll be publishing projects developed in COM561 at WSU. Each supports the underlying philosophy that equitable access to information and technology begins with intentional, human-centered design, and has the power to create a more just world. It’s never simply what it looks likeāit’s how it functions, how it scales, how it communicates, how it lasts, and how it influences.
Some things that get me excited are atomic design and design systems, preserving digital history, and thinking about how people engage emerging technologies. Outside of work, I love chasing light with my camera, hiking the beautiful trails we have here in the PNW, and destroying my enemies in a good tabletop board game.
